Irene Williams (nee Winarski), 85, of Dunnellon, Florida passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Brandley House Hospice in Summerfield, FL. She was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Stephanie M. Winarski.
Born and raised in Miami, Irene attended St. Theresa's Catholic School in Coral Gables when it was K through 12th grade. After graduating at age 16, she worked for Southern Bell for 22 years as an accounting clerk and moved to Dunnellon in 1977. Taking after her mother, she loved to garden, and won many prizes for her African violets. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Dunnellon and had volunteered in the kitchen; a Lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers; and The Humane Society of the United States.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carlton Williams, and brother, Edward Winarski, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Jane Underkofler of Vineland, NJ; , nephews, Michael Underkofler and David Winarski; nieces, Laura "Missy" Kelly, Julia Underkofler and Deborah Winarski Mendez; granddaughter, Doreen Lefler, great nephews and great niece, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass is planned at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Dunnellon, at a date to be determined. Fero Funeral Homes, Beverly Hills, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.ferofuneralhome.com.
