Clifford Henry Scott, 95, of Hartford and formerly of Jericho Road, St. Catherine, Jamaica, beloved husband for 63 years of the late Iona E. (Bailey) Scott, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 7, 2022, after a brief illness. Born in St. Mary, Jamaica on April 15, 1926, son of the late Ahithophel and Vinella Scott, he migrated to the United States with his family in the early 1980's and settled in Hartford. Clifford worked at Alcan Jamaican Ltd., a bauxite company in Ewarton, St. Catherine, Jamaica, for over 25 years, before coming to the United States. After moving to Hartford, he worked as a custodian for the Community Renewal Team (CRT) retiring from the McKinney Shelter on Huyshope Avenue in Hartford. While living in Jamaica, Clifford was a founding member of Bethel Gospel Hall, Church of the First Born were he served as a Deacon and a member of the choir
His family will receive friends on Saturday, February 26, 9-10 a.m., followed by a Homegoing Service, 10 a.m., at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 1154 Blue Hills Ave., Bloomfield. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Carmon Windsor Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
