ST. GEORGE-Keely Amber Hall was born in St. George, Utah on March 26, 1991 to Julie Cannon Johnson and Troy W. Hall. Keely was taken early from this life as a result of a Homicide, she died January 10, 2007 at Dixie Downs Park in St. George at the age of 15.

Keely was a sophomore and had been a student of Snow Canyon High, Dixie High and Millcreek. She loved music, dancing and poetry. She had a fun personality and loved to laugh and hang out with her friends. She also loved animals.

Keely is survived by her mother, Julie Johnson; her father, Troy W. Hall; her sisters, Tasha Cannon and Whitney Johnson, all of St. George; her grandparents, Paige and Afton Cannon of Diamond Valley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elton and Virginia Hall of Enterprise, Utah.

Keely is loved and will dearly be missed by her family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 13, 11 a.m., Winchester Hills LDS Chapel, 5338 N Winchester Hills, St. George, UT. Visitations will be held Friday, January 12, 6-8 p.m., Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd. and on Saturday, 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to Services at the Winchester Hills Chapel.
Interment will be in the Enterprise Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.

"Keely Amber Hall, 15, was strangled to death and her body dumped in a neighborhood park. A 14-year-old boy was charged with first-degree murder, rape and aggravated sexual assault. Carlos Hernandez, now 15, was certified in December to stand trial as an adult."

On Tuesday, December 18, 2007, Carlos Hernandez pleaded guilty and confessed in the 5th District Court of St. George to rape and murder. Judge James L. Shumate sentenced Hernandez to an indeterminate term of 15 years to life on the first-degree felony murder charge and a consecutive term of five years to life on the first-degree felony rape count. A restitution fine of $15,000 was also imposed. Hernandez was moved to the Utah State Prison in Draper, Utah within five days of that hearing where he is currently serving his sentence.
