It is with deep emotions of love, and loss, that family and dear friends said goodbye to Donna, Christmas morning, as she left this world to once again be with her best friend and husband, Ernie Lee.

Donna was born in Peterborough, Ontario, and met her lifelong friend, Shirley Seymour, at age 3 while playing in the sandbox. She played volleyball in high school and was captain of the team. It was at Peterborough Collegiate at age 13 she met the love of her life, Ernie Lee….head boy and captain of the basketball team. They married when she was 18 and spent 68 years together as husband and wife, and best friends. Their devotion to each other was an inspiration to friends and family.

Donna worked part and full time as a secretary during the child rearing years. It was important for her to be there for her young family, but equally important to have a life outside the home. She was active in her church, and easily made good friends in whatever community she and Ernie lived, as they moved around from town-to-town with the TD Bank.

Donna will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit; her devotion to her family; her innate wisdom about life; her creativity; her beautiful singing voice; as a graceful dancing partner with Ernie; and her lifelong faith and devotion to God.

She will be deeply missed by her sister, Helen Mortimer; daughter, Leslie Lee; her son and his wife, Jeff and Sophia Lee; her son and his wife, Chris Lee and Patricia McFadden along with their daughter Sarah McFadden; her grandson and family, Dan and Jen Lee, Katie, Eleanor, Charlotte and Alex Lee; and her granddaughter, Amy Lee. Also will be lovingly remembered by her extended family; grandchildren, Robert Sylvester and his wife Shannon Sylvester, and their son Grady; Brenda LeBlanc and her husband Joseph LeBlanc, and their children Emily, Declan and Alyson Berryhill, and Liam, Julia and Hazel LeBlanc; and David Lee and his son Austin.

Donna is much loved by all of us and will remain with us in our hearts forever.

A private, outdoor memorial celebration will be held in Peterborough, at Little Lake Cemetery, in the summer of 2022 to honour the radiance of the lives of both Ernest Joseph Lee and Donna Gwendolyn Lee (nee White) as they find their final resting place, together.

Should you wish to honour Donna, donations are being accepted to help the furry friends she so adored, at the Stratford Perth Humane Society, www.kwshumane.ca and The Farley Foundation, www.farleyfoundation.org. Donations may be made directly or through the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home (Rutherford Cremation & Funeral Services). 804 Ontario St., Stratford. 519-271-5062
