Robert E. "Bob" Schmidt, age 67, of Quincy, died Thursday, February 17, 2022, at 9:37 am in his home.
Robert was born December 11, 1954 in Moberly, Missouri, the son of James E. and Joyce M. McLaughlin Schmidt. He married the love of his life, Janice R. "Jan" Dodd on October 24, 1980 in Quincy, Illinois. She preceded him in death on October 25, 2016.
Bob attended St. Pius X school before moving to Quincy where he graduated from Quincy High School. Bob was employed at Quincy Soybean Company for over 20 years, and he retired from Titan Wheel International. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and dedicated Chicago Cubs fan. He also took great joy in gardening and farming. More than anything, Bob loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include two children, Lacey (Adam) Schmidt of Quincy, and Ryan Schmidt of Clayton, IL; his parents, James and Joyce Schmidt; a brother, Rich (Barbara) Schmidt of Quincy; two sisters, Karen (Rob) Watters of Quincy and Sharon (Fred) Humphrey of Clayton, IL; a brother-in-law, Kevin (Belva) Dodd of Houston, TX; a sister-in-law, Deborah Dodd of Quincy; 10 nieces and nephews, Mikki (Keith) Morris, Nicole Kuhlman, Jimmy (Nancy) Hopkins, Justin (Mary) Hopkins, Katie (Darrell) Kline, Stacy Roberts, Jessica Warner, Brenda (Joshua) Hughes, Kimberly (Andy) Runquist, and Henry (Laney) Dodd.
Robert was preceded in death by wife Janice Rose Schmidt.
