Doris Griffin was born April 4, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Edward Parker and Vannie Mae Griffin. He passed away on February 13, 2021 at the age of 66 years.

Doris attended Buena Vista High School. He was employed by General Motors at the early age of 17. He continued his employment at GM transitioning into Delphi Chassis until he retired. He was big on family and friends, especially gatherings at which he would cookout and DJ. He had a great love for cars, and an ear for music of all genres. You could certainly expect a calm demeaner, his smiling face, those deep dimples, sunglasses, and his car clean as if showroom new, every time you encountered him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Sylvia D. Griffin, Saginaw, MI; his children, one daughter and two sons, Omar and Shmar Griffin both of Saginaw and Jawaan Griffin, Grand Rapids, MI; god-son, Larry (Amber) McDonald, Grand Rapids, MI; god-daughter, Latisha Fuller, Saginaw; sisters, Elizabeth Cowan, Decie Cosby and Ruth Griffin, all of Detroit, MI, Joyce McCaster, Saginaw, Barbara Allen-Styles, Florida City, FL and Norene Robinson, Washington D.C.; brothers, Clemmie Griffin, Vienna, VA, Moses Griffin, California and Ned (Chiquita) McCaster, Jr., Antioch, TN; special cousins, David Parham, Sr, Salley Henderson-Vaughn and Luella (Clyde) Hopkins all of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Mildred Lampley, Saginaw; brothers-in-law, Charles Jackson, Saginaw and Thomas Jackson, Jr., Flint, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including his extended village of brothers, Doyse (Shirley) Lee, Sr., Edward (Delena) Allen, Robert Hill, Sr., Oscar Young III, James Nelson, Tony Saunders and Anthony Humphrey III: a very special friend, Mary Harris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Parker and Vannie Mae Griffin; grandson, Ditravius Campbell; brothers, James (Ike) and Cecil Griffin; father-in-law, Thomas Jackson, Sr.; mother-in-law, Cleodester Jackson; uncle and aunt, Robert and Ollie Mae Pritchett; sisters-in-law, Delores Kirks and Lee Eunice Reeves; brothers-in-law, Michael and Calvin Jackson, Sr.; a nephew, Anthony Griffin.

Visitation will take place from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607.
