Obituary for Mrs. Sylvia Griffin
Sylvia "Lil" Denise Griffin was born July 28, 1957 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Cleodester and Thomas Jackson Sr.

Sylvia attended Flint Northwestern High School and graduated June of 1976. She was employed by Taco Bell Corporation for over 40 years and Magic Kitchen for 28 years until she retired due to illness in 2018. Sylvia made it through her battle with breast cancer and continued on her journey. She was known for cooking, smiling, her big selfless heart and catering to her family plus she was a huge supporter of her loved ones and extended family, anything they needed she did her best to assist. Everyone she encountered was sure to experience her loving heart.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a son, Omar Griffin; daughter, Shmar Griffin, both of Saginaw, Michigan; god-daughters, Latisha A. Fuller, Taneesha Smith, Karrie and Karen Bell, all of Saginaw; sister and brothers, Mildred Lampley and Charles Jackson, both of Saginaw, Michigan and Thomas Jackson Jr. of Flint, Michigan; sisters in-law, Louise Jackson of Caledonia, MI, Elizabeth Cowan, Decie Cosby and Ruth Griffin, all of Detroit, Michigan, Joyce McCaster of Saginaw, Michigan, Barbara Allen-Styles of Florida City, FL, Norene Robinson of Washington, D.C, Janine Young of Saginaw, Michigan and Catrena Lawrence of Springhill, TN; brothers in-law: Robert Lampley of Saginaw, Michigan, Clemmie Griffin of Vienna, VA, Moses Griffin of California and Ned (Chiquita) McCaster Jr. of Antioch, TN; aunts and uncle, Judy B. and Margaret Jackson, Ollie Mae (Eugene) Wright, Lavorn Jackson-Burnes, Edithel Jackson-Sims and Clarence (Catherine) Jackson; a host of cousins including special cousins, Mark (LaTonya) Jackson, Luella (Clyde) Hopkins, Sally Henderson, Geniece (Paul) Townsel and Sean Townsend; nieces and nephews, Alicia (Arther) Foster, Tonereasa Jackson, Ranette Jackson, Tiffany Jackson, Calvin (Tonya) Jackson, Erika Jackson, Taneka and Radre Reeves, Lakeisha Marks, Terry Young, CaShari, Kobi, D'Vante, Jawan, Ashawndre, LaTrea and Terrance Pendleton. Lavoris, Melvin, Monica and Joy Griffin, Donna Spence, Vida Butler, Cynthia Sims, Willie Shacks, Umqokozo (Tomekia) Lawson, Jaymond Lawson and Terrance Adams; a host of friends, co-workers and extended family members including, Mary Saunders, Mary Holmes and her lodge brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Sylvia Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, Doris Griffin; grandson, Ditravius Campbell; parents, Cleodester and Thomas Jackson, Sr.; sisters, Delores Kirks, Belinda Jo Jackson and Lee Eunice Reeves; brothers Calvin Jackson, Sr. and Michael Jackson; grandparents, Ollie Jackson, Beatrice Jackson and Odessa Adams; aunt, Jean Jackson.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Dr. Marvin T. Smith will officiate.
