Robert "Pop" Russell Garrett Jr., 82 years young of Hampstead, MD passed away suddenly on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Johns Hopkins Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born on February 24, 1939 in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Robert Garrett Sr. and June Snyder-Garrett. He was the spouse of Mary Lange-Garrett of 62 beautiful years. He was the adored father of daughters Denise Garrett Rill and husband Steve, Suzette Garrett Covalt and husband Shawn, and son Robert Garrett lll and wife Judy. His eight grandchildren; Shawn, Sarah, Amanda, Adam, Bethany, Mallory, Drew, and William loved him dearly. Being a great-grandfather to Jaidynn, Liam, Brylee, Braxtin, Lance, and Blake was everything to him. He was a dear brother to Margaret Ann Wright. He was predeceased by sisters, Jean Stephens and Barbara Grannas.

Robert enjoyed taking photographs and making homemade cards for loved ones, putting together puzzles, and going out for special dinners with his wife and family. He was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan and used to be on a bowling league where he met his wife during his time in the Air National Guard. After his time in the military, Robert worked as a machine operator for many years at Black and Decker and Master Power before retiring to spend quality time with his wife and family.

Pop will be celebrated with friends and family on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 3-5 pm at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 11 am at the funeral home. The Rev. Kristin Dubsky will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD.
The family has requested that masks be worn.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Mark's Church, 1375 North Main Street, Hampstead, MD.
