The youngest of five siblings, he moved to Fort Smith as an infant, and loved calling the River Valley home.
After joining the US Army, he married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Newton on June 25, 1965. After a short time in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Dale and Barbara moved home to Fort Smith, where they happily raised their family.
Dale was a long time, active member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church. Dale worked many years at both Whirlpool and Riverside Furniture, ending his working days at Sparks Medical Center.
Dale was known for his kindness, his love of family and his great sense of humor. (Though many wish he would have learned a few more jokes instead of repeating the same ones).
Dale was preceded in death by, in his own words, "a lot of people". Important to him were his brother, Gary Crouch, his best friend, Garry Williamson, and boyhood hero, Archie Joyce.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, who took amazing care of him during his last months. His children, who adored him: Laura Luckett (John) of Keller, Tx, Robert Crouch (Rebecca) of Bonanza, AR, and Lisa Maglio (Tony) of Oakland, TN. His grandchildren, Gatlin, Gibson , Garrison and Gentry Luckett, Robert Cody and Zach Crouch and Tori Shepard. He left behind his great-grandchildren, loving nieces and nephews and his beloved sister, Janet Russell, of Galatia, IL. Also were his "bonus kids" JT and Julie Richards of Muldrow, OK.
Dale's family wishes to thank HOSPICE, Heart of Hospice and the amazing doctors, nurses and staff of the VA. Their help and resources gave him peaceful final days. Words can't express the gratitude for prayers and kindness shown toward the family.
Laura, Robert and Lisa wish to acknowledge how hard their mother worked to give Dale the best possible care in his final months. He wanted to remain at home, and only because of Barbara's complete dedication was he able to do so.
A visitation will be held at Lewis Funeral Home on Sunday, February 20 from 2-4pm. Dale's funeral service will be held at Evangel Temple on Monday, February 21 at 11am. Interment will be with military honors at the Fort Smith National Cemetery on Wednesday, February 23 at 10am.
