Barbara Ellen Green Myers, age 80, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022.
She was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on June 19, 1941.
Barbara graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School, where she was a cheerleader, choir member, and an acapella quartet competitor. She also wrote for the high school's newsletter and was active in numerous clubs.
Barbara was married to her best friend, Donald "Don" Hal Myers, Sr. (1939-2020) on August 12, 1961. She was a loving homemaker, wife, and mother.
She was very friendly and warm, never met a stranger, and was loved by all. Barbara was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Montevallo, Alabama, and was active in the Red Hats Society.
Her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family, traveling with her husband in their motorhome, playing cards, socializing with friends, going to the lake, sewing, and decorating her home.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hal Myers, Sr., and her parents, James Green and Doris Kendall Green.
Survivors include Barbara and Don's four children, and grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, Alabama 35124. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 80 St Thomas Way, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
