Eddie Alexander, age 66, was born to the late Eddie Alexander Jr. and Thelma Williams Alexander on July 27, 1955, and departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 22, 2022

He attended the Steubenville Public School System and was a graduate of Steubenville Big Red. He was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Eddie worked for various Telemarketing Agencies until his illness prevented him from doing so. Eddie was a member of the Acts Of Faith, a Christian Community Drama Ministry. He was a good actor and a smooth dancer. He enjoyed sitting home and watching his past stage performances.

Eddie had a magnetic personality and made friends wherever he went. He came into this world with the nickname Butterball because he was a big 10# baby. As he got older he became Butter. He spent several years living between Camilla, Ga, and Steubenville. When he first moved to Camilla, he would put on his roller skates and skate all over town. Those that did not know him named him "the skater". He could move and dance on those skates like a pro. Friends and family in Camilla stopped calling him Butter and gave him the fresh name that was better than Butter....Parkay.

Butter's illness prompted him to purchase a scooter and he would ride around town playing Old School Music on his tablet for others to hear and hence developed the nickname of "Music Man".

Butter loved the Dallas Cowboys and you definitely would know it by his apparel, furnishings, and conversation. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Darius Alexander.

He leaves a legacy of love to his devoted Sister Wylene (David), his Uncle Jimmy (Mazie), his great-nephew Rubin and Great niece Natasha, his great-great-nieces Aubrey, Camree, and Braelynn, and a great-great-nephew Marcus, his numerous adopted nieces and nephews who lovingly called and knew him as Uncle Butter, and all his wonderful cousins and friends.

With all the names we have called him throughout his life, Butterball, Eddie, Butter, and Parkay, he can now proclaim: "I have a new name over in glory, and it's mine yes, oh yes it's mine.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service, 1:00 p.m. at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville. Bishop Roy C. Dawkins will deliver the eulogy. The family is requesting that all visitors wear a mask. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
