He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Barbara Ann Landon.
Surviving are 3 children, Rick Barrett, Lafayette, Linda (Robert) Owen,
Edwardsburg, Mi. and James (Jodi) Barrett, of Lafayette.
6 grandchildren, Angela (Rob), Jason, (Stephanie), Joseph, Andy (Karina), Sarah (Trent) and Kerry. 14 Great grandchildren, Lynsey, Tysen, Noah, Breona, Braylyn, Trenten, Camren, Rowyn, Emmalee, Ava, Paisley, Rosalie, Ronnie and Bonnie. Also 1 great great grandson Levi.
Richard (Dick) graduated from Paulding High School as a 4 Letter Man. He lettered in football, (quarterback), baseball, basketball (MVP 1954) and track. He was in the Jr Olympics and won a gold medal for the 220 yd dash. He attended Earlham College and Ohio State University. He served om the Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legon Post 215. He enjoyed all sports. Fishing, hunting, bowling and golf. One of his favorite pastimes was watching his Ohio State Buckeyes on television.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion Post 215.
