Gary Wayne Vickery-Chitwood, age 16, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Thursday, February 17, 2022 at his home.

Gary was born September 1, 2005 in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, listening to music, playing video games, cooking and was passionate about helping others. Gary cherished his family and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Kiley Vickery, niece, Hadley Young, grandfather, George Sears, uncle, Gordon Sears and grandmother, Myrtle Bryant.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Amber and Russell Chitwood; maternal grandparents, Noel and Janet Haste; Teresa Stephens and Jackie Stephens; paternal grandparents, Melissa Chitwood; Ledford and Karla Chitwood; sisters, Abbey (Cody) Young and Kammie Chitwood; girlfriend, Maddy Wesley and several special aunts and uncles, Brandi (Will) Douglas, Mary (Matthew) Wilson, Justin (Taylor) Haste, Todd (Courtney) Chitwood, Jonathan Chitwood and Jason (Denise) Sutton; along with a host of cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 12 to 2 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2 P.M. at the funeral home with Bro. George Sears and Bro. David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Quinton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gary Wayne Vickery-Chitwood Memorial Fund. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Gary Wayne Vickery-Chitwood.
