TUSCALOOSA John Roger Caldow, age 82, of Tuscaloosa, died Dec. 31, 2007, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 12 noon Wednesday at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Stephen Hooks officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ora Nell Caldow of Tuscaloosa, and his father, Alexander Roger Caldow of Tuscaloosa.

Survivors include his wife, Lollie Beatrice Caldow of Tuscaloosa; his daughter, Carla Jeanne Cowan (Tommy); his son, Stephen Roger Caldow (Sally) of Tuscaloosa; his sister, Rozella Jeanne Griffin of Tuscaloosa; his grandchildren, Lisa Sansom Baird of Tuscaloosa, Stephanie Ann Caldow of Birmingham, Lindsay Cowan Bonilla of Tuscaloosa, John Stephen Caldow of Tuscaloosa, and Matthew Ryan Cowan of Tuscaloosa; and his great grandchildren, Caroline Grace Baird, John Davis Baird, and Cooper Thomas Bonilla.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, John Caldow and Matthew Cowan, as well as Geo Bonilla, Jimmy Osborn, James Sansom, and Terry Ussery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Evelyn Bridges for her love, compassion, and care over the last five years, Imogene McCrory, Northport Medical Center, Hospice of West Alabama, Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Helen and Ken Graham, Morray Bishop, Dean and Don Bishop, Linn and Troy Allen, Arthur Stone, Ann and Norman Dockens, Gene Patterson, and Kirk Patterson.

John Roger Caldow, age 82, of Tuscaloosa, died Dec. 31, 2007, at Hospice of West Alabama. He was married 62 years to "Lollie" Beatrice Williams Caldow of Greensboro, Ala.

John served in World War II with the US Army Transportation Corps. He traveled extensively over his 50 years as an electrical contractor, before settling in Tuscaloosa, Ala. in 1965. He owned Miss Ala Electrical Contractors and Tide Electrical Contractors prior to his retirement in 1991. John was a member of Alberta Baptist Church, a licensed private pilot, and an avid amateur radio operator. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be remembered for his quick wit, kind spirit, and generosity. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
