Son of Charles White and Eleanor Cook Bowers. He graduated from Auburn University as an aerospace engineer, a member of Tau Beta Phi fraternity and a lifelong member of the Auburn Alumni Association. After graduation, he moved to York and Chambersburg, PA where he made close friends through work, church and golf. A little over a year before his death, he moved to New Orleans to be with his family. Surviving are his sisters, Laura Toups (Delaney) and Mary Bowers (Beth); and nephews, Bill Wherritt (Amanda), Charles Wherritt (Sophie) and Jody Wherritt (Annette.)
