A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 12:30 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery in Lafayette for Francisco Javier Aguilar, 58, who passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge.

Francisco was born May 3, 1963, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. He graduated from New Mexico Military Institute, Class of 1981, and attended University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. Francisco worked as a Financial Advisor and Business Planner for 30 plus years.

Francisco was a man who loved music and watching documentaries, spent lots of his time listening to bands, such as Rush and Van Halen and watched Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown. He dreamt of one day exploring outer space. Francisco was a man of conviction, a strong moral code he lived by. He was a bright man with the right combination of funny.

Francisco is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Lesly Portillo Aguilar, of Lafayette; son, Francisco Javier Aguilar, Jr. and his wife Leila Amira Khansa, of Houston, TX; his parents, Francisco Rafael Aguilar and Rosario Nolasco Aguilar, of Nueva Armenia, Honduras; two brothers, Bryan Aguilar and his wife Diana, of La Lima, Honduras and Ricardo Aguilar, of Baton Rouge; sister, Aileen Nickerson and her husband Kyle, of Baton Rouge; two granddaughters, Ayah Sofia Aguilar and Yara Marlene Aguilar and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.
