Eva Geraldine Roetzel, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, died Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born on May 25, 1939, in Ozark, Arkansas, to the late Alfred David Hardin and Karrie Thelma (Robertson) Hardin. She was 82 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland D. Roetzel; two infants, Calan and Dee Ann; two sisters, Infant Nancy Hardin and Patsy Hardin; and her brother, Allen Hardin.
Geraldine was a cook for 22 years for Subiaco Abbey in Subiaco. She loved cooking, gardening, listening to music, and when she was able, attended Charleston Assembly of God Church. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19th at Mt. Hope Cemetery, located north of Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her children, Kelly Bearden of Charleston, Odessa Mershon and husband Ace of Alix, Carol Brown and husband Robert of Kingston, Missouri, and Laura Heathcott and husband Larry of Charleston; her step-children, Bobby Roetzel of Searcy, Arkansas, Melissa Roetzel of Ozark, and Cindy Wilhite; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
