Debora Ann Thomas Brown (1954-2016) of Grantville, Georgia, returned home into the loving arms of her Father in Heaven on February 25, 2016. The oldest of six children, she was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Claude Ray Thomas. Her early years were spent in Gridley, California, and American Fork, Utah, where she made many dear friends and many wonderful memories. She attended UTC (now Utah Valley University) where she earned her nursing degree and went on to bless countless lives through her loving and compassionate service in her chosen profession which included over forty years as a newborn nursery nurse and a public health nurse at the Coweta County Health Department.
Debbie married Don Welman Brown on March 24, 1976 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He was the love of her life. Together they brought five beautiful children into the world who blessed their lives with so much joy. Nothing, however, made her happier than her five darling grandbabies. She loved them dearly.
During their married life, Debbie and Don lived many places: Orem, Utah; Madison, Wisconsin; Las Vegas, Nevada; Southern California; Roswell, Georgia; and for the last fifteen plus years in Grantville, Georgia. Everywhere they went, they touched people's lives for good. Debbie had a happy, loving, caring personality and was never afraid to express her love to others. She never forgot a birthday and never missed a chance to say "I love you." She had a great memory and always loved to share stories of her childhood. She also loved to read, knit and crochet and freely shared her talents with everyone she met.
Debbie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities including Primary President and counselor in the Stake Young Women's Presidency. She dedicated her life to the service of her fellow man.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Don, and her children; grandchildren; mother; siblings; brother-In-law and sister-in-law, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Claude Ray Thomas, father-in-law Clark Kendall Brown, mother-in-law Ellen Walker Brown, grandparents, and other loved ones—all who loved her dearly and were waiting on the other side to embrace her and welcome her home.
