Mary Ruth Spears Sharp, 84 of Purdon, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in Corsicana. She was born January 31, 1938, in Dallas to Robert Rowland Spears and Doris Crim. She was the second child born. She met the love of her life Will Sharp in 1952 and on November 28, 1952, they were married. She became an Army wife in February 1953 until April 1955. She worked for Texas Instruments of 18 years before she became a stay-at-home mom and wife.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Rowland Spears and Doris Crim, her husband of 68 years Will V. Sharp, her oldest son Will V. Sharp Jr., her daughter Mary Elizabeth Sharp.
She is survived by her brothers Walter (Buddy Spears and wife, George Spears and wife; son Robert Clinton (Clint) Sharp and wife Robertta and Anthony (Tony) Sharp and wife Tonya; daughter in law Carleen Sharp and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 19th from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Dresden Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Josh Trees, Lance Trees, Chris Sharp, Joey Slade, Billy Slade, June Fira, Jez Cashion, Jabe Cashion.
