Fred Lawson passed away on February 14, 2022 at the age of 86. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 13, 1935 to Raymond and Kathleen Lawson.

Fred attended Catholic Schools through the 9th grade. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1952.

In 1954 Fred married Kay Dell Allard of Drumright, Oklahoma. They were married for 48 years until her death from cancer in 2002. Fred later married Nancy Williams Hughes of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Fred served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958. Following his discharge, he entered the University of Tulsa where he graduated in 1962 as first in his class from the TU College of Law.

Following his admission to the Oklahoma Bar Association he joined the Legal Department of Texaco Oil Company in Tulsa and served as Texaco's General Attorney for 32 years until his retired in 1994.

Fred was an accomplished golfer. During his military career he won the US Air Force Championship in Pebble Beach, California. In Tulsa, he won the Tulsa Match Play Championship three times and the Tulsa Four Ball Championship three times. He often said he would have to live to be 100 in order to shoot his age in golf; but he actually
performed that feat many times.
