Deborah (Debi) Gail Hooper, 69, of El Reno, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on February 17, 2022 after complications from a ruptured brain aneurysm and stroke.

Debi was born, as the youngest daughter, on July 23, 1952 to Lawrence and Maude Branch in Lindsay, Oklahoma. After Debi graduated from Lindsay High School in 1970 she went on to marry and have two children, Lori and Chris Hooper.

Debi spent a large portion of her life, living in Yukon, OK, as a homemaker but also went to cosmetology school and became a hairdresser. She enjoyed most of her free time leading karaoke in Oklahoma City.

Debi's Christian faith was central to her life and she often encouraged others with God's love. She grew up in First Baptist Church of Lindsay and was a lifelong Baptist.

In recent years she had retired and enjoyed spending time with her many friends as well as her beloved dog, Abbie.

Debi was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she opened her heart and her home to many people over the years and will be sorely missed.

Debi was preceded in death by Lawrence Branch (father), Maude Branch (mother), and Barbara Toby (sister). She is survived by Chris Hooper (son), Lori Hooper and Greg White (daughter and son-in-law), Melba and Don Cowin (sister and brother-in-law), Mona Thomas (sister), Debbie and Don Cowan (Honorary sister and brother-in-law), several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Services will be held at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK, on Wednesday, March 23 at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pets and People, Cash donations to PO Box 850587, Yukon, OK 73085 or www.petsandpeople.com and any item donation drop off or mail to 9733 NW 4th Street, OKC, OK 73127. Debi was a lover of all animals.
