Dolores was born and raised in Middle Village, Queens, NY, where she attended St. Margaret's High School. In 1957, she moved to Westfield, NJ with her late husband Arthur. There they cared for and raised their eleven children together. As their family grew, they resided in several different homes in Westfield and relocated the family to Northfield Falls, Vermont for several years where they ran a dairy farm.

A devout Catholic, Dolores took an active role in the churches where they lived. During retirement in Vero Beach, Florida, Dolores was recognized for her 500 hours of volunteer work at the local hospital.

Dolores cultivated and enjoyed many lifelong friendships. As an avid reader, she was a proud member of the Butterfly Girls book club. In addition to being a very talented quilter and water colorist, Dolores enjoyed needlework, sewing and cooking. As a member of a Gourmet Cooking Club in Westfield, Dolores loved hosting dinner parties for numerous friends and family. After the children were grown, Dolores enjoyed working as a bookkeeper and administrator in the business established by her husband

Dolores was predeceased by Arthur Brown, her beloved husband of 70 years and their son, Michael.
