She married James Nathaniel Whitman Emmons of Boston on April 24, 1880. Two children were born to the marriage, but sadly both died prior to their first birthdays, including Whitman Wheeler, born and died in 1881, and Augustus E., born in July 1882 and died in June 1883.
Jane was just shy of her 27th birthday when she died of Phthisis. Her burial was in the family lot at Forest Hills Cemetery.
