Don proudly served in the U.S. Airforce, one year in the U.S. Army reserves and twelve years in the U.S. Navy, departing as the Chief Fire Control Technician. He later was employed with the Racine Fire Department for five years. He was a member of Racine Assembly of God Church. In his spare time, Don enjoyed walking, watching the news, animals, and music.
Don is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother Richard Carpenter and sister Dolores Jorgenson.
Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street Hwy C, Union Grove, WI 53182 on Tuesday March 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
The family extends a special thank you to the caring staff at The Wisconsin Veterans Home and Aurora Hospice.
