Mary Jane Hurt, age 87, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital.
She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late James Arthur Hess and Nora Mae Horton Hess.
She was a life long resident of the area and was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1953.
She was a member of the Richlands Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Maurice Hurt; sisters, Betty Stevens and Nanola "Nance" Hess; and brothers, James Arthur Hess, Jr., John Marvin Hess, Howard H. Hess, George P. Hess, and Harry L. Hess.

Daughter: Dr. Nora Constance Hurt and husband, Robert Holland of Smyrna, Georgia
Son: James Hurt, II and wife, Kim of Jacksonville, NC
Sister: Helen Hess of Richlands, Virginia

Sister In Law: Peggy Hess of Richlands, Virginia
Grandchildren: Lauren Elizabeth Hurt, James Matthew Hurt, and Robert James Peery Holland

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 12pm at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Virginia with the Rev. Dr. Paul Min and Pastor Matt Jessee officiating. Entombment will follow. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Jessee, Terry Justice, John Hess, Brady Hess, Mike Hickman, Mike Stump, and Andy Alley.
