Phillip Norris McClendon, 76, of Crocketts Bluff passed from this life Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Veterans' Hospital in Little Rock. He was born December 15, 1945, in Bay to the late Earnest and Willa Mae Hale-McClendon.

Phillip grew up in Craighead County before getting married and moving to Little Rock, where he was a successful business owner. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Phillip was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served our great nation in the Army during the Vietnam war from 1970 to 1971.

In addition to his parents, Phillip is preceded in death by two brothers, Junior McClendon and Dewayne McClendon; sister, Hilda McClendon; grandson, Stephen McClendon; maternal grandparents, Walter Hale and Amanda Gibson-Hale as well as paternal grandparents, Jim McClendon and Cecilia Taylor-McClendon.

Survivors include his wife Donna McClendon of the home; sons, Richard (Sharon) McClendon of Crocketts Bluff and Billy McClendon of Little Rock; daughter, Celesta McClendon of Stuttgart; sisters, Annette (Leon) Hurst of Jonesboro, Venita Ashabranner of Jonesboro and Sandra (Terry) Heard of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Whitney Witcher, Celina McClendon, Evan Tiner, Jared Golden, Chance Golden, Curtis McKinney, and Lauren Richards as well as 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 12 to 1 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland with Rev. Kenneth O'Connell officiating.
