MAR. MARY RENWICK DIES AT CHESTER HILL
Has Been Estimable Resident of Community for Many Years
Ill for the past eighteen months with a complication of diseases, Mrs. Mary Renwick, long an estimable resident of the community, died at her home in Chester Hill at 8:30 Friday evening. Funeral services, in charge of Rev. Franklin T. Eastment will be held at the residence on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be made in the local cemetery.
Mrs. Renwick, who was a daughter of Jonathan and Susannah Staley, was born in Auckland, Durham county, England, March 1, 1846. About fifty-five years ago, in her native county, she was united in marriage to Lawson Renwick, and the family came to America to live in 1869, first locating at Scranton and later taking up their residence at Fallbrook, Tioga county, where they lived for many years. They came to this section about twenty-eight years ago. Lawson Renwick died May 2, 1908.
So far as could be learned no brothers and sisters survive. The following are the names and places of residence of the sons and daughters: Lawson and John S., at home; Matt, of South Philipsburg; Thomas, of Chester Hill; Mary, wife of Patrick McQueeney, of Chester Hill; Maggie, wife of Samuel Stiffler, of Chester Hill; Nellie, wife of John Henry, of Chester Hill; Sarah, wife of Robert Perks, of Osecola Mills, and Susannah, wife of Purl Thompson, of Beaverdale.
The deceased was a kind, neighborly woman, devoted to her family and home life. Sincerest sympathy is extended to the sons and daughters over the bereavement of a good and faithful mother.
