Richard William "Isaac" Green, age 93, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. He was born March 10, 1928 in Urban, Ohio the son of the late Earl and Helen Turner Green. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Green was an easy going man, he loved his family, and his beloved wife Vivian, who precedes him. He was an inventor, and very mechanically inclined. He was a long-time crossing guard for the students at Denver Schools, and also a long-time newspaper deliverer for the Wilmington News-Journal. Mr. Green had farmed for several families in the New Vienna area. He loved to play scrabble and sudoku, and enjoyed playing the lottery and visiting the casinos. He is survived by his children, Terri (Marque) Jones of Wilmington, Janet (Mark) Green of Newport, Kentucky, and Karin (Dr. Tim) Harris of Bloomington, Illinois; grandchildren, Darryl France of Wilmington, Arica Green of Wilmington, Desiree Jones of Wilmington, Adam Green of Wilmington, Marque Jones, Jr. of Huber Heights, Trishaun Cooper of Citrus Heights, Virginia Harris-Hutzel of Wilmington, and Lorenzo Harris of Wilmington; many great, and great-great grandchildren, along with a host of other loved family including special nephew Bobby Hudson and sister-in-law Evelyn Burns. In addition to his parents, and his wife Vivian, Mr. Green had lost a son and daughter-in-law, Richard William Green, Jr. "Rick" and wife Pam; son David Allen Green; sisters Pauline Green and Cora Hudson; and brother Earl Green, Jr. Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held simultaneously with his son David Green at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Dr. Timothy Mark Harris will officiate. American Legion Post #49 Honor Guard will accord Military Honors. Visitation for William and David will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington.
