Sharon Kay King of Arlington, Texas passed away on January 19, 2022, at the age of 79. Sharon was born on August 25, 1942, in Fort Sill, OK, the fifth of six children of Ralph and Georgia Lucas.
She spent the first part of her life in Fort Sill, where at the age of 15 she met her first and only love, Donnie Ray King. To hear Donnie tell the story, he would say he knew he was going to marry Sharon, the moment he saw her. And that is exactly what happened. After six months of courtship, Sharon and Donnie married on November 29, 1957. They then moved to TX to continue their life together.
Sharon worked various retail jobs, but she spent most of her time doing what she loved most, raising her family. There is little that Sharon cherished as much as she cherished her family. She raised her own children, Donna and Billy, was very active in the raising of her grandchildren, and was very instrumental in the raising of her great-grandchildren; and she would not have had it any other way.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donnie King. Sisters, Sue Hogue and Carolyn Brown and husband Bill. Sister-in-law, Mickie King. Brother-in-law, Steve Wiles. Children: Daughter, Donna Syrios and husband Mike. Son, William "Billy" King and wife Jeni. Grandchildren, Johnny Todd and wife Carmen; James Todd; Virginia King and partner Brooke Garvin; Rachael Black and husband Nick; Rebecca Syrios; Gabriel Syrios and wife Jessica; Todd Graves and wife Carly. And 32 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, and cousins along with many friends and a loving church family.
Sharon is preceded in death by her Son, Billy Don King; Parents Ralph Lucas and Georgia Mae Lucas; her Brother Raymond Lucas; her Sisters, Nancy Pearl and Beverly Wiles; her Grandson, Colten King; Granddaughter Sheryl Todd; her Father-in-law, Fletcher King and her Mother-in-law, Velda King; her Brother-in-laws, Ronnie Hogue and Billy King; Sister-in-law, Barbara Bell and Granddaughter-in-law, Tana Todd.
A visitation for Sharon will be held on Thursday, January 27th from 6:00-8:00pm at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 10:00 am at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2500 W. Randall Mill Rd, Arlington, TX 76012. Following the service, the family will escort Sharon to her final resting place in Sterling, OK at Sterling Cemetery, NE Cline Road, Sterling, OK 73541.
