She grew up in Arlington, MA. She graduated from Arlington High School, and from Newton Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked as an ER Nurse in Waltham, MA Hospital until she permanently moved to Marthas Vineyard. She worked at the MV Hospital in the ER and other departments. She married Jerome E "Jerry" Rogers" on August 2, 1975. She retired from nursing around 1979, but returned to work part time at Windermere. She knit more than 100 bears for The Mother Bear Project and packed boxes to send and be distributed to children in other countries who had lost their parents. She knit prayer shawls before for cancer patients, and wool hats and slippers for soldiers in Afghanistan. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Virginia Skerry. Surviving are her husband of almost 45 years, Jerome E Rogers; son, Andrew N Rogers (Wendy) of Manchester CT; daughters, Julie A Gales ( Richard) of Belmont NH, and Amy E Smith (William) of Oak Bluffs MA; grandchildren, Jasmine M Devine Sherman (Andrew) of Oak Bluffs, MA , Nolan and Christopher Rogers of Manchester CT, and Kayleigh D. Gales of Belmont, NH; and sister, Cynthia Dauphinais of Oak Bluffs, MA.
