Robert drove trucks, and worked as a tankerman on the tugboats for many years. He enjoyed mechanic work and being with family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Margaret Newman; daughter, Maxine Newman; sons, Robert E. Newman, Jr.; Donald Newman, and Daniel Newman; siblings, Mary Busby; Maxine Marsh; George Newman; Otis Newman; Martha Cutting, and Hugh Mac Newman.
Survivors are his children, Angelo Newman (Shellie); Edward Holland (Colleen); Eunice Thomas Newman; Tricia Jean Newman; step-children, Debbie Holland, and Brian Bellard; sisters, Laurie Newman Guillory, and Vickie LeBleu; 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 12 p.m., with Otis "O.B." Marsh officiating in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation is in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
