Randall Clay Curtis, or Randy for those who knew him well, passed away Sunday morning February 13, 2022, in the comfort of his home in Northern Kentucky with loved ones by his side. He was born on May 26, 1965, to David and Kay Curtis, in Maysville, Kentucky. He was a 1983 graduate of Mason County High School and went on to marry his high school sweetheart in 1985. He never met a stranger, which served him well in his career as a very well-known and successful food salesman and co-owner of Shear Elegance and J. Curtis Salon and Spa, in Maysville. He became a father in 1989 to his daughter, Brianna, who will forever be able to recite his favorite Andy Griffith, John Wayne and "To Kill a Mockingbird" quotes. He enjoyed playing poker, watching old movies, camping with his wife, Frisch's breakfast dates with his daughter and talking sports with his son-in-law.

He held many titles—husband, son, brother, uncle, friend and father—but there wasn't a title he enjoyed being called more than "Pots." This name was given to him by his first granddaughter who couldn't say "Pops." His imagination, unwavering dedication and countless hours of playing "dog catcher" with "his girls" made him undoubtedly the greatest grandpa of all time. Randy's kindness knew no boundaries, and those who knew him can attest to this. For those of you who didn't, you've unfortunately missed out. He had an incredible ability to engage in a conversation and make you feel like the most important person in the world, even if it was only for a few minutes. His joy and infectious laugh will be missed by all.

Besides his amazing wife, Jayna, Randy is survived by: a daughter, Brianna (Ty) Sargent, of Northern Kentucky; his mother, Kay Curtis, of Maysville; a brother, Anthony "Tony" (Ashley) Curtis, of Flemingsburg; three granddaughters, Lennox Sargent, London Sargent and Layla Sargent; a nephew, Jeremy Curtis; two great-nephews, Carter Sanders and Luke Curtis; many cousins, uncles, and aunts; and countless friends. He was preceded in death by: a niece, Mindy Curtis; and his father, David Curtis.

In lieu of flowers, Randy would have wanted those who loved him to remember him by simply making someone else smile, performing a random act of kindness or providing a compliment to someone in need. Donations can also be made to any diabetes or kidney foundation in his honor. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Maysville Event Center, 24 East Second Street, Maysville, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, with Pastor Darin Mirante officiating. Honorary pallbearers include Don Strode, Tony Curtis, Jeremy Curtis, Sam Welch, Mark Kennedy and Todd Helton. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that you bring all your funny stories and jokes in remembrance of this man who was so loved by all. Arrangements are entrusted to Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
