Carlene Mann, 88, of Lubbock, and formerly of Idalou, was born on June 3, 1933, in Mayfield, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on February 14, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas, surrounded by her family.

Carlene married the love of her life, Robert "Big'N" Mann, on September 24, 1954. They shared 43 years together before he preceded her in death on June 26, 1997.

Together, Robert and Carlene had four daughters: Donna, Doris, Terri, and Lisa. Doris preceded her mother in death on October 26, 2019.

Throughout her life, Carlene wore many hats. She was a wife, mother, seamstress, and an unbelievable cook. She sewed for the public for many years, creating fashion clothing, wedding dresses, and outfits for the cheer squad in Idalou. Carlene ended her work career as a greeter at Wal-Mart in 2017.

Carlene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Idalou.

She is survived by her daughters: Donna (Gary) Young, Terri Hamblin, and Lisa (Raymond) Smith, all of Lubbock, and son-in-law, Dyrl Bush of Levelland. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brandon Young and Robyn Taylor of Lubbock; Carla Beckmeyer and Caitlyn Bush, both of Lubbock and Robert Bush, Jared Bush, and Amanda Gipson of Levelland, Kevin Bush of California, Tyler Hamblin of Lubbock, Austin Hamblin of Big Springs, Raymond Smith of Chesapeake, VA, Russel Smith of Sand Diego, CA, and Ryan Smith of Lubbock. Carlene has 25 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, daughter and parents, Carlene was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Coffey and one sister, Laquetta Ozbun.

A time of visitation for Carlene will be held from 4 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, February 17, 2022, in the Oak Crest Suite of Combest Family Funeral Home, 2210 Broadway in Lubbock. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM that evening. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, February 18, 2022, in the Petersburg Cemetery, in Petersburg, under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes. Mr. Buzz Hagler will serve as the officiant.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Young, Raymond Smith, Russel Smith, Ryan Smith, Robert Bush, Tyler Hamblin, Austin Hamblin and Jace Mote.
