Margaret Sarah Hoffman (née Crowley) 94, passed away peacefully in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho on Jan. 30, 2022. She was born in Post Falls, Idaho, on June 10, 1928, one of six children.

Her childhood nickname was Bunny and her family continued to call her that for the rest of her life. In 1946, she met her future husband, Milton Hoffman at North Idaho College. They were married in 1948 and had three children together, Susan, Jayne and Milton II.

Margaret and her family moved to Portland, Ore., where Milton taught high school. Over the years, they lived in Milwaukie, Corvallis and Lake Oswego, Ore.

Margaret devoted herself to her family and home. She enjoyed any chance to chat and her job providing samples at Costco gave her a chance to do just that. Her home was always a place of love and warmth for her grandchildren. She was quick to laugh and enjoyed long walks, watching basketball games and catching up on news of family near and far.

After Milton's retirement, they moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where Milton built their beautiful home on land that had been part of his family farm. Margaret missed her children and grandchildren but was happy to be near her siblings again after so long. She especially enjoyed visiting with her sister, Norma. After her husband's passing in 2013, Margaret was cared for and kept company by her children, most recently her daughter, Jayne Hoffman who provided her with loving caregiving, stability and companionship for many years.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband Milton, her daughter Susan Longhurst and her beloved siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Jayne Hoffman of Coeur d'Alene, her son Milton William Hoffman II of Nehalem, Ore., five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be announced at a later date.
