She was born in Surry County on May 10, 1928, to the late Early Marvin Shores and the late Collie Harris Shores Norman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Levon Shores Harrison Houser; brothers, John Martin Shores, Arthur H. Shores, Daniel Clinton Shores, Earlie Clifton Shores, James H. Shores; 3 great-grandchildren.
Surviving is her loving husband, James Richard Cox; daughters and sons-in-law, Verona and Doug Danley, Lois and Johnathan Everidge; sons and daughters-in-law, James Henry and Carolyn Cox, Roy Clifton Cox and Denise Reeves, David Grey and Tanya Cox; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Odessa Shores, Lucille Shores, Irene Norman.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday February 18, 2022, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home.
Burial to follow in the Charity Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
