She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Mahlon Yarbrough (1920-2001) of Decatur, Alabama.
She was the daughter of Dr. William Hugh Curl (1898-1967) of Alabama, a minister in the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church and his wife, Verlie Lee McGlawn Curl (1902-1994) of Alabama.
Paternal Grandparents: James Pleasant "Plez" Curl (1855-1951) of Blount County, Alabama and Melvina Price Curl (1860-1934) of Alabama.
She was the sister of Dr. William Earl Curl (1920-2001), also a minister in the North Alabama Conference and his wife, Fay Little Curl (1923-2016).
She and Mahlon had three children, she was grandmother of six, and ten great-grandchildren.
Over the years, she taught school in DeKalb County, Alabama, worked at banks in Huntsville, Alabama and Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends at the banks and at many churches where she taught Sunday School over the years. The family thanks Amedisys Hospice of Birmingham for their kindness and care. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel beginning at 2:00.
