Anna Ruth Laxton Clark, age 87 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at the Fort Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Born December 23, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Ohlen and Loma Wright Laxton. Anna Ruth was raised in Huntsville, TN, graduated from Huntsville High School, and attended Tennessee Tech University for two years. She worked for Verdun Lumber Co., Oneida Special School System, and Big South National River and Recreational Area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd H. Clark, whom she married on June 10, 1953; sisters: Evelyn Laxton King, and Shirley June Laxton Carson.

Anna Ruth is survived by her daughters: Cheryl Clark (Mike) Anderson, Diann Clark (Rodney) Stephens, Laurel Clark (Roger) Ward, and Dara Clark (Bill) Jenkins; grandchildren: April Anderson, Robbie Foster, Grayson Buttram, Alyssa (Byron)Marcum, Tyler Layne, Kelby Stephens, Payton Stephens, and Drake Stephens; great grandchild: Hadley Jo Marcum; as well as other family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her six wonderful and loving caregivers.

Friends may visit with the Clark family on Friday, February 18 , 2022, from 5 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Terry officiating. Music will be provided by Scott Andrews.

Graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
