John J. "Jack" Walton - When we consider the anthologies of our lives, the pages overflow with loving remembrances of our dear father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Either by word or action, he was intent upon sharing the requisite need of giving of oneself for others. Most dear to him was a tenacious resolve for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to "first seek the Kingdom of Heaven." His devotion to the Blessed Mother, whom he tenderly referred to as 'Mom', will forever be etched in each of our hearts. On this 13th day of February, 2022 at age 87, the Kingdom of Heaven welcomed John Walton home.

Born August 29, 1934, Jack, as he was affectionately called, was the son of Dolores and Frank Walton, who have preceded him. Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Albert (Mikey) Walton (Rose Walton). It seems fitting to include Jack's surviving nephew's, Mickey's sons, for Jack had a heart that they, too, will not forget: Thomas Walton, Steven Walton, Albert (Little Mick) Walton.

Growing up in Bloomfield, Jack attended elementary school at Joseph's School on Pearl Street and graduated from Central Catholic High School. It is well-known that Jack was an avid athlete according to his high school 'through thick and thin' buddies. "His natural ability far surpassed everyone they knew," Dick Fitzgerald fondly recounts. Jack excelled at both football and baseball, even playing under the tutelage of the renowned coach Chuck 'Bear' Rogers. Jack was a quarterback and a pitcher while engaged in the sports that he truly loved, deeming him a leader, but, more importantly, deeming him a gregarious individual, a respected attribute throughout his sales career.

After graduation, Jack met the love of his life, Carol Ann Abel, and they were married in 1956. Still a newlywed, Jack was called to serve his country in the Armed Forces and was stationed in Ft Knox, Kentucky. Jack and Carol were Blessed with four loving children: Donna Mikula (Dennis), Cheryl Zorich, David Walton (Michele) and Karen Kennedy. In addition, Jack and Carol are survived by eight grandchildren: Breanna Maisner (Zach Maisner), preceded in death by Nathan Zorich, Carolyn McIntosh (Chris McIntosh), Joshua Zorich (Sara Zorich), Nicole Kennedy (Dan McGee), Danielle Johnston (Kyle Johnston), Stephanie Kennedy, Kirsten Mikula (Casie Wood). Jack and Carol were also Blessed with six great-grandchildren: Connor, Benny, James, Michael, Mason and Sophia.

Interment will be in Good Shepard Cemetery, Monroeville, Pa.
