Michael Gene Burns, 73, of Granite City, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022. He was born on August 31, 1948 in Belleville, Illinois to Clarence and Hazel (Nance) Burns. Michael was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a SSgt participated in the USAF Honor Guard. He married Judy Garrett December 26, 1970 in Washington Park. Michael had a passion for fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed boating and flying small planes.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Judy Burns; daughter, Lori (Tom) Gibbons; grandsons, Jackson and Shane Gibbons and 4 grand dogs. Predeceased by his parents; brother, John Burns and sister, Shirley Conley.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with Pastor Robert Strong officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
