Everett D. Scheffler, age 88, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus. He was born February 8, 1934, in Piggott, Arkansas, the son of the late Dovie (nee Crick) and Edward Scheffler.
He is survived by his second wife Florence (nee Conner) Emry-Scheffler of Herculaneum, Missouri; sons Charles Scheffler of Atlanta, Georgia, and Al (Nancy) Scheffler of Festus; daughter Becky (Robert) Klassen of Omaha, Arkansas; sister Lucille (the late Rex) Cate of Piggott; 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Carlene (nee Featherston) Scheffler; sisters Alma (the late James) English, and Velma (the late Clifford) Hollis, and brothers Edward (Jean survives of Piggott) Scheffler, Jr., and Paul (the late Faye) Scheffler.
Everett was a retired maintenance supervisor with the Army National Guard, having served at Jefferson Barracks, and the 220th Engineering Company in Jefferson County; and was a member and deacon of Ketha Heights Baptist Church.
Graveside services Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in Piggott Memorial Gardens in Piggott, Arkansas, officiated by Pastor Greg Booher, and Rev. Randy Casey. Memorials in his memory are preferred to Ketha Heights Baptist Church.
