Born November 4, 1928 in Wilmington, NC, he was the son of the late Clarence Ward and Odie (King) Wilkins.
Cecil grew up on Delgado Street in Wilmington. He proudly served in the U.S. Army twice and the U.S. Airforce once. Cecil was an avid golfer and enjoyed working on golf courses. He worked with professional golfer, Frankie Morgan, for many years on golf courses around the country. Cecil was loved by all that knew him. He was a bright light to many people and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his sister, Shirley Stokley; many nieces and nephews; and many other family members. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Carney; nephew, Robert Copeland; and niece, Doris Carney.
A memorial service was held at Gibson Avenue Baptist Church in Wilmington on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1:00pm. Pastor Johnathan Rochelle officiated.
