Elaine K. Smith, 75, of Grand Island passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022.
To honor Elaine's wishes cremation was chosen, memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Elaine was born on October 24, 1946 in Minden, NE, daughter of LeRoy and Kathryn (Friday) Smith. When Elaine was younger, her family moved to Sarasota, FL where she graduated from Sarasota Senior High in 1965. She made life long friends, Colleen Geary and Peggy Colyer.
In 1978, Elaine returned to Nebraska, first Holdrege and finally settled in Grand Island. Along with her sister, cared for their mother until her passing.
Elaine was employed as a waitress at Holiday Inn before beginning her employment at Triad Plastics for 22 years. Elaine then worked at St. Francis Hospital in the housekeeping department.
Elaine saved many cats and dogs and gave them a loving home. She enjoyed reading any mystery novel and was quite a history buff when it came to World War II, especially the European Theater. She was a dear sister, and friend to animals and people.
Elaine is survived by her sisters, Rosella Smith of Grand Island, and Joyce Thulin of Oxford, NE; Aunt Marilyn Hill of Lakeport, MI; niece, Kaitlin (Thulin) and Brandon Geobel of Oxford, NE; great-niece, Everly also of Oxford.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
