Mrs. Baker was born in Alcoa, Tennessee on November 3, 1937, daughter of the late John Herman Driver and Mary Lou Styles Driver. She was a member of the Grove Level Baptist Church in Dalton and was retired from Hutcheson Medical Center. She was a former president of the Chattanooga and East Tennessee Women's Aglow Fellowship and was also past president of the Catoosa County American Cancer Society. She loved the Lord and studied the Bible intensively and used that knowledge to teach Sunday School Classes and Counsel others. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles T. Pledger; second husband, Mack H. Baker; sister, Mary Driver; and a brother, John Edward "Buster" Driver.
Mrs. Baker is survived by a son, Charles Pledger, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mario Fernandes; grandchildren, Alexandra Fugate, Dillon Fernandes and Diego Fernandes and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside and Interment Services for Mrs. Baker will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 4:00 P.M. in the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Danny Driver officiating.
Mrs. Baker will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until 3:30 P.M.
