He was born in Beersheba Springs on December 12, 1933 to James Daniel and Eudora Smartt Tate who preceded him in death along with his brothers, J.W. Daniel, George Tate and Jack Tate. He is survived by his wife; son; 3 daughters; 5 sisters; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Johnny Gross officiating with burial to follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM Tuesday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.
