David graduated from Sumner High School and NC State University with a degree in Textiles. He was employed with Burlington Industries for 41 years and retired from the Corporate Purchasing Department in 2001. David served as a Captain in the US Army Reserves in the 1960's. He received a Volunteer Recognition Award for his outstanding service to Habitat for Humanity. David was a member of First Baptist Church for 31 years and served as a deacon and on committees.
David loved his family and leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 31 years; a son; a daughter; a stepson; a stepdaughter; five grandchildren; five great grand-
childen; a brother and a sister-in-law.
A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church on Friday, February 18, 2022 with visitation from 1:00-l:45 and the service at 2:00. Interment will follow in the Church Columbarium. Masks and social distancing will be required.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or Habitat for Humanity.
