Funeral services for Mrs. Chastain, 77, who died Wednesday at her Canal Point home after a long illness, will be held today at 10:30 am in Canal Point Baptist Church. The pastor, the Rev. Joseph G. Clements will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Thomas Patrick Arnold, grandson of the deceased. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, West Palm Beach.
Pallbearers will include Clyde P. Griffies, Jerome M. Billings, Harold D. McGuire, Harry Steven Ficquette, Livingston Barwick and J.S. Barwick.
Mrs. Chastain came to Canal Point in 1931 from Thomasville, Ga. She was a member and one of the organizers of the Canal Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, J.S. of Pahokee, R.L., Pal Beach, A.R. and O.H., both of Canal Point; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas Arnold, Winter Gardens, Mrs. E.E. Gibson, Thomasville, Ga., and Mrs. J. L. McCord, Miami; two brothers, C.S. Barwick and Roy Barwick, both of Thomasville, Ga; two sisters, Mrs. J.M. Golden and Mrs. D.A. McCranie, both of Thomasville; 1 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.- Palm Beach Post, Fri, June 4, 1954.
