A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Emily "Doo" Marie Cloteaux, 88, who passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Pelican Pointe Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Maurice.

Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will resume on Wednesday, December 29th from 8:00 am until the time of service.

A rosary will be recited by Voohries Short on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 6:00 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette.

Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette.

Father Travis Abadie, Pastor of St. John Francis Regis Church in Arnaudville, will officiate.

Emily Guidry Cloteaux, was born June 12, 1933, in Church Point, LA and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. Emily was owner and operator of Emily's Beauty Salon in Lafayette for over 15 years. She worked for Lafayette Bowling Lanes in the nursery for 10 years, as well as a bus aide for the Lafayette Parish School System until her retirement. Emily loved cooking, baking, and playing bingo. She was a parishioner of St. Jules Catholic Church in Lafayette. Emily most enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and leaves a legacy of love and will be deeply missed.

Emily is survived by her three children, David Cloteaux and his wife Louella, of Carencro, James Cloteaux and his wife Julie, of Youngsville, Gloria Higginbotham, of Crowley; son-in-law, James Breaux, of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and numerous dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John "Pop" Cloteaux; her daughters, Beverly Cloteaux and Joan Breaux; her parents, Jean "Joe" Guidry and the former Corrine Stelly; her sister, Lucy Guidry Foreman; her grandsons, Evans John Cloteaux, Jamie Lee Breaux, Louis Leroy Touchet, Jr.; two great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter and her son-in-law, John "Darrell" Higginbotham.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Justin Touchet, David Cloteaux, II, Shelton Cloteaux, Edward Higginbotham, James Breaux, Jr., and Lane Voss.

Honorary Bearers will be David Cloteaux, James Cloteaux, Brent Higginbotham, Jordan Cloteaux, Thomas Cloteaux, and Caine Richard.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Pelican Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation of Maurice, and the staff of Hospice of Compassus for the compassionate care given to Emily and her family.
