Jerry Wayne Green, 70, of Dry Prong, was born January 12, 1952, and entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, in the home of his best friend and cousin, J.W. Green, (Cheryl). He was affectionately known by his family as "Wolfman Jerry." He was a longtime resident of Grant Parish. Jerry battled serious medical issues during his last years, but never lost his zest for life. He always faced his challenges with a huge smile and laughter. He never met a person who didn't like him, and he generously opened his home to anyone needing shelter. Jerry was a professional welder during the first half of his life, and enjoyed retirement in the latter years. He was an amateur collector, and managed to find many eclectic items over the course of his lifetime. Jerry attended Living by Faith Church, in Pineville.

Jerry had a love for fishing and hunting, and enjoyed this time with his family. He trained dogs to track and jump up rabbits and enjoyed traveling with Daniel and his grandson, Corbin, to hunt hogs. Jerry always wanted to play a guitar, but even after years of trying, he never got the hang of it. He loved old western shows and anytime someone called him, "Gun Smoke" or one his other favorite westerns, could be heard in the background.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of twenty-eight years Jetty Green; his father, Jefferson Laverne Green; his mother, Lucille Edna Carraway Green; one nephew, Chad Lowery; beloved sisters-in-law, Vallie Green and Lynn Lowery; and one brother-in-law, Travis Jordan.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his children, Jesse Green (Salena), Robert Green (Shelagh), Daniel Green (Donna), Joshua Green, Sara Green, Jeremiah Green (Nikki), Jacob Green, and Sierra Green; his siblings, John Otis Lowery (Bertie), Fay Jordan, Johnny Green (Pat), Roger Green (Rhonda), Cecil Green (Zina), Tommy Green (Darlene), and David Green (Anna); his first wife and mother to his first seven children, Flo Green; thirty grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren (with two expected this year); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends all over the United States, which loved him and will miss him dearly.

A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
