Virginia Atwell Bishop, 83, of Conover passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at her residence.
She was born May 13, 1938 in McDowell County, WV to the late James Harmon Atwell and Clara Owens Atwell. Virginia was a member of Bright Light Tabernacle in Hickory, and a member of the church choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Clarence Herman Young; brother, James Atwell; sisters, Shirley Roberts and Mary Adkins; and sister-in-law, Hazel Atwell.

A service to celebrate Virginia's life will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bright Light Tabernacle Church in Hickory. Rev. Ray York will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at Bright Light Tabernacle Church. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Hickory.
