Mr. Sawyer is the beloved husband of 57 years to Diane Kay (nee: Lindsay) Sawyer. Loving father of Timothy (Becky Markland) Sawyer, Thomas (Marsha) Sawyer, Kerry (Dave) Asbel and William (Laurie) Lindsay Grandfather of Ashley, Shelby, Jesse, Brandon, and Trey. Great grandfather of Hannah. Preceded in death by his sister Joanne (Wayne) Zwolinski. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Bob was born in St. Paul, Minnesota but grew up on Mackinac Island. He worked at Arnold Transit Company and also helped his parents who owned Sawyers' Green House on Mackinac Island.
At the age of 18, Bob was drafted by the United States Army and valued this service highly. As part of this service, Bob was sent to Vietnam and served in the Motor Pool.
After returning from Vietnam, Bob worked at Superior Oldsmobile in Detroit and retired from General Motors Powertrain.
Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
